Chapter 9-10 Did Billy Have Help?

Before you start writing your answers to the question for Chapters 9-10, I wanted to share with you an answer to one of the questions from the previous post. This is my favorite answer of all time for the question about who worries more about you, your mom or dad. This if from a student I had several years ago.
Here is part of what she had to say:“My mom is the one who worries about me because she is so uptight about things. I also think that it is just a mom thing and they are supposed to worry about you.”I thought this showed some great insight into her family.
Read on for the two questions for today. Be sure to give great answers that others will want to read and remember to separate your answers and answer both questions.
1. By the end of chapter 9, Billy is firmly convinced that he had been helped with the tree. What evidence can you find to explain who helped Billy? Do you agree with his conclusion?
2. On page 100 Billy says that he thinks his Pa is saving the money from his coon hides. Why do you think Pa is saving the money?
I look forward to reading everyone’s answers.

Because it sais the tree was bent over so old Dan could climb it.
And yes I agree that would help so now the dogs can get the coon a lot easier and Billy wont have to cut the tree down.

I think he’s saving the money for Old Dan and Little Ann. So he can help feed them and buy them a new dog house maybe.

1. I think that god had answered his prayer. Just like how it answered him for naming the dogs. Besides the fact that the tree could be really tall and be the only one to pick up wind! I think that Billy is lucky to have some one watching him.
2. I think Pa is saving the money for Billy to have school when they move into the city. Or money to live in the city. I think that soon Pa will have enough “coon hide cash” for them to move.

1: The evidence that proves Billy was helped with cutting down the tree is, Right after Billy prayed the wind blew the big tree down with out hitting another tree in the forest. I agree that God helped Billy cut down the tree. I think this because right after Billy prayed the tree fell down.
2: I think pa is saving up all Billy’s money from the coon hides so that he can spend the money on a new mule. I think this because in the beginning of the story it said that pa wanted a new mule.

The evidence I found of who helped Billy is when Billy prayed to god to help put that tree down, and when Billy asked his dad if he felt any wind and he said no. I also think someone helped because the only wind was on that one tree. Yes I agree with his conclusion.
I think Billy’s Pa is saving the money for one of them Red Mules he wants.

Question 1: Do I think that Billy had help; well he probably did because he said”It only touched the one tree and all of the other ones were not even moving”. But Billy had been cutting and cutting so much and so I think that it was because he had tried enough that he got help. Question2: I think that Billy’s dad is saving up for a mule or something big I don’t know what but something big.

Yes I do believe that Billy got help with cutting down the tree, and I think that god helped him because the book says that he was praying to god to help him cut down the tree so I think that it was god that helped him.
I think that pa is saving the money for Billy and so pa can buy things for Billy, like things that will help him capture more coons. Hope*

I think that when he sent the prayer to god that god helped him, because the wind didn’t hit any where else but that tree and only god can control wind. Yes I do agree with his conclusion because think that god did it not just wind.

Maybe pa is saving money because he might be getting some more dogs maybe. Or maybe he’s saving to buy a new house or move into the city and Billy wouldn’t like that, at all.

Question 1: I think that someone helped Billy cut down the tree because right after Billy said “Dear God please give me the strength to cut this tree down” the tree fell down. I think someone helped him.
Question 2: I am convinced that Billy’s dad is saving up for a Missouri Mule like Grandpa said he wanted real bad. It wouldn’t be a surprise to me if he bought a Mule.

1:The evidence I can find that Billy had help on the tree was when Billy's grandpa came in his buggy and came with some things to help the tree stay up so Billy could cut down the tree easier. So that is how Billy was convinced that he had help. Yes I do agree with Billy’s conclusion because he needed some help on the tree so it would be cut down a lot faster so he could get the coon he wanted.
I think Billy’s Pa is saving Billy’s money from the coon hides because I think Billy’s Pa wants Billy to buy something nice from all of that hard work Billy did while he was coon hunting. That is why I think Pa is saving the money from the coon hides.

Some evidence that tells me that Billy had help with cutting down the tree was that the wind blew hard on that tree and not the other trees were blowing like the big tree and I am convinced that he was helped by God because he prayed and he didn’t want to let his dogs down.
I think pa is saving the money from Billy’s coon hides to buy Billy something special for all his good, hard work he has been doing for all the days he was out late hunting for the coon so I think pa is going to buy something for Billy.

I think Billy did have help wit the tree because only the laves on the sycamore were moving I think God helped after he prayed.
I think Billy’s dad is saving up for mule because he said he was.

1.The evidence that someone helped him was that the wind only went to the “big tree”. Also Billy’s father said that there was no wind that day. “Another gust of wind caught in the top of the big tree. It started popping and snapping. I knew it was going to fall”. I do agree with Billy’s conclusion.

2 I think that Billy’s dad is saving the money for something nice or for a house in town.

Well when Billy prayed a few minutes later the wind started to blow and made the tree fall so maybe that prier helped him I think I agree with Billy’s conclusion.

1. Well I think that god helped him because Billy said that he prayed and then the tree that the coon was in was only moving and the rest of the trees didn’t and yes I do agree with the conclusion.
2. Well his pa is saving money for Billy dogs because he can by two coon hides for Old Dan and little Ann. That’s probley why his pa is saving money for the dogs.

1.I do agree with the conclusion and I also think that god helped him because when he prayed to the lord and asked him to help him finish the job, I also think that the wind that knocked down the tree was god helping him because the wind only hit the tree Billy was cutting.
2. I think the dad saved the money because they are planning to move into town they would probably use it to get the kids in school

Question 1: I agree with Billy, because a miracle can really happen. I mean if Billy said that the big tree was the only tree that the wind was blowing on then that was just weird. “Do you think that god heard my prayer?”

Question 2: I think that Billy’s dad is saving the money so that he can move in with his family into the town. Because remember that earlier in the book his dad mentioned if Billy liked the city. Then he explained to Billy that the kids need a good education. So that why I think that his dad is saving the money.

Question 1: I agree with Billy because miracles and good stuff can happen to people. He will help with the tree because he said prayers and his grandpa knew how to keep the coon in the tree for four or five days and that was to make a fake person.

Question 2: I think that papa is saving the money for smoothing he wants. Maybe its coon skin maybe it’s smoothing for Billy or maybe its smoothing for Billy pups. I think that it is a coon hide because he says A good size hide was worth from four to ten dollars, depending on the grade or quality. And he kept the side of the smoke house plastered with hides. Or he might be saving the money for a popular .coon hide or maybe it’s the biggest coon hide ever.

Question 1: Some of the evidence that proves Billy was helped when he needed it was when the book said he couldn’t do it any more but once he asked god to help him he finished the tree by himself. And I do agree with Billy’s conclusion because he did every thing he could to be loyal to his dogs and that to me is a great person.

Question2: I think Billy’s Pa is saving the money to buy a mule. I think this because earlier in the book his dad said he would rather buy a mule than Billy some dogs. But he didn’t have enough money for ethier of them.

I found for evidence that no other tree in the woods had been touched by the wind. Billy thinks it was God who helped him. I do agree. The tree wouldn't have just fallen down by itself. I do not know what Billy's dad is saving up for. I thought awhile, and I do not know! He's probably saving up for something big. Or maybe I just think that! Well, better go. Bye!
